ZHANGXIN (FRANK) LIU

I am an Associate Professor of Finance at the University of Western Australia Business School, where I also serve as Associate Director of International Relations. I completed my PhD in Finance at the University of Queensland, after dual degrees in Actuarial Studies and Finance at the ANU.

My research covers asset pricing, corporate finance, economic and financial history. Some of these projects have been running long enough that they are becoming economic history themselves.

Teaching is the other half of the job and the half I find hardest to put down: I have received more than fifteen teaching awards since 2015, including a national AAUT citation in 2019.

Away from the desk I play guitar, ukulele and piano, write my own songs, and take landscape and portrait photographs. I also collect watches and design them, which means I have spent several years perfecting an object that a cheap quartz movement already keeps better time than. I run a small not-for-profit as well.

I am told this is a lot of interests for one person. I am told this mainly by co-authors waiting for a draft.
